My Cosplay Journey

From a young age I was always interested in dressing up and playing pretend. Sometimes I would put outfits together from things I had in my closet that were inspired by different characters from games I played or movies I saw. As I got older I started to hear about cosplay and conventions. It wasn’t until 2013 that I did my first cosplay and attended my first convention with friends. The rest, as they say, is history!

Cosplay can take many forms. I personally work best with fabric manipulation and love putting attention in details like trim, embroidery, and beading. I hope to continue improving my skills to work on bigger and more complicated builds.

One of my most involved builds to date is my original take on Amaterasu from Okami. I combined design elements from the game with traditional fashion from Heian era Japan. With this cosplay, I was selected as a finalist in the 2019 Twitchcon Cosplay Contest. You can check out my stage walk from the event HERE.
